The Jamaican Association on Intellectual Disabilities (JAID) was established in 1956. Today we are the oldest and largest interdisciplinary organization of parents, professionals, and volunteers providing leadership in the field of intellectual disability.
We have a solid track record in the field. Our various programs, for which we have partnered with the government, continue to provide a range of services to improve the quality of life for persons with intellectual disabilities. We facilitate community integration and acceptance.

The Teamwork School started in 1975, and is administered by Teamwork Trust, a non-profit organisation committed to working with children and youth. Teamwork School accepts that "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding" (Proverbs 9:10). Instruction and training are therefore based on scriptural principles with Christian precepts built into the curriculum.
